iStockphoto opens global photography event to the public
London, 8 June 2012: For the first time, iStockphoto is offering an open ticket available to the public and media who want to attend iStockalypse. Sponsored in part by Canon Europe, Hensel and Nik Software, the iStockalypse is an official multi-day photography event where artists from around the world gather to capture authentic, local imagery from the host city.
Previously, iStockalypse was only open to photographers and videographers who were specially invited by iStockphoto. The open ticket offers access to all seminars, as well as the iStockalypse Home Base, which will be open during the entire duration of the event. Daily events at Home Base include expert seminars, portfolio reviews, a professionally lit studio and an editing zone. Twice daily, photo walkabouts will leave from Home Base and will have professional models and on-the-ground instruction from iStockphoto editors and creative directors.
This summer, the popular event returns to Berlin. More than 100 iStockers from 23 countries will descend on the German capital for four days of shooting, education and extra-curricular good times between June 11th and 14th.
iStockalypse Berlin will bring together photographers with art directors, models, hair and makeup artists, design and props stylists and professional lighting, to create truly authentic local imagery that will satisfy customers needs in Germany. The iStockalypse events attract a global network of artists from iStockphoto, interested in exploring, celebrating and capturing the essence of the area they are photographing.
iStockalypse is not only about creating great local imagery. The events also help to grow artists and provide them with the tools and experience to further their expertise. iStock sets the stage for attendees to broaden their knowledge through a series of seminars and activities designed to take their craft to the next level.
Rebecca Rockafellar, General Manager at iStockphoto says; “iStockphoto is committed to providing its customers around the world with quality, authentic and locally relevant content, and hosting the iStockalypse events around the world really helps us to achieve this goal. We know that our customers find the content captured at these events incredibly valuable and we are really excited to see what our photographers capture this year, in the eclectic and dynamic city of Berlin.”
